Welcome to the La Plata County Website!
La Plata County is updating its Comprehensive Plan. Because our community and region is changing, it is necessary to review and update our plan to make sure it reflects current conditions and community values. This 18 month planning effort will lead to an update of 2001 La Plata County Comprehensive Plan to make sure it reflects the current needs and vision of County residents, businesses, and other stakeholders.
This website will provide information, updates, and announcements about the development and update of the plan and how you can get involved.
SCHEDULE OVERVIEW
Planning Commission Work Session with Planning Staff
Scheduled for October 13, 2011.
At the Nov. 10th Planning Commission work session the PC indicated they would like to stop the process of reviewing the Master/Comprehensive Plan. The PC directed staff to bring the Master Plan to them on December 8th for a formal vote to stop the process. The meeting will be held at 6pm at the County Courthouse in the Anasazi room.
The purpose of the meeting is to meet with staff to discuss the following:
A. Further restructuring of the Comprehensive Plan
B. Chapter 11, Future Land Use Plan
C. Timeline for next meetings and public input.
