Future Land Use Plan

Sector Boundary Planning Meeting:  The County District Planning Areas will be convened to discuss the methodology behind revising planning area boundaries including a review and discussion of: opportunities and constraints analysis, suitability analysis, and fiscal impact analysis. 

Growth Scenario Community Workshops:  Using build out scenarios developed by the Working Group and Technical Advisory Committee, three meeting will be held to review the draft scenarios and to begin to develop a preferred La Plata County growth scenario.

Draft Future Land Use Plan (FLUP) Sector Workshop: A workshop will be held in each planning sector to discuss and evaluate the draft Future Land Use plan and to fine-tune the land use designations. This workshop will be an interactive event where participants will work with a facilitator and create the future land uses for their neighborhoods.

Draft FLUP Open Houses: Three open houses will occur with a brief presentation followed by an opportunity for you to comment on the draft FLUP.

Final Comprehensive Plan/FLUP Public Hearings: the Future Land Use Plan will be presented to the Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners at public meetings for their concurrence on the future land use designations and intensities.
